TICKETSOFT — COOKIE POLICY (ticketsoft.com)
Last updated: 7 November 2026
1. About this policy
1.1 This policy explains how ticketsoft.com uses cookies and similar technologies. "TicketSoft", "we" and "us" mean TicketSoft Limited, a company registered in Ireland (company number 794874), registered office Dockgate, Merchants Road, Galway H91 N2NE, Ireland.
1.2 Our Privacy Notice (ticketsoft.com/privacy) explains how we use personal data, your rights and how to exercise them. This policy does not repeat it.
1.3 This policy covers the ticketsoft.com website. What our iOS and Android app stores on your phone, and what it can access, is explained in the "Our app" section of our Privacy Notice (section 17A).
1.4 Our site for organisers, business.ticketsoft.com, has its own cookie policy at business.ticketsoft.com/cookies.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
2.1 A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser. Websites can also save information in your browser's "local storage", which stays until it is deleted, or in "session storage", which is cleared when you close the tab. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of these.
2.2 Under Irish law (Regulation 5 of S.I. No. 336 of 2011, the ePrivacy Regulations), we can store or read information on your device only with your consent, unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. In line with Data Protection Commission guidance:
- (a)we ask for your consent before using any cookie that is not strictly necessary;
- (b)rejecting is as easy as accepting;
- (c)no option is ticked in advance; and
- (d)the site works the same whether you accept or reject analytics.
3. Summary
3.1 On your first visit we show this message:
"We use strictly necessary storage to make ticketsoft.com work, for example to keep you signed in, remember your location and complete your payment. With your permission, we'd also like to use analytics from Mixpanel to see how people use TicketSoft, such as searches, pages viewed and checkout steps, so we can improve it. If you're signed in, this may be linked to your account. Analytics stays off unless you accept. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. Read our Cookie Policy."
You can choose Reject All, Manage preferences or Accept All.
3.2 Before you choose, we set no analytics cookies. We store only what the site needs to work, such as the location you pick.
3.3 We use one optional category: analytics, provided by Mixpanel. It runs only if you click Accept All, or switch it on under Manage preferences.
3.4 When you reach the payment step, our payment provider, Stripe, uses cookies to prevent fraud. These cookies are strictly necessary for a secure payment.
3.5 Some content on our pages comes from other websites, such as the map on event pages and country flags. Section 6 explains what that means for you.
3.6 You can change your choice at any time (section 7).
4. Strictly necessary storage (no consent needed)
These items make the site work. You cannot switch them off in our settings. You can delete them in your browser, but some features will then stop working.

Stripe decides for itself how it uses the information it collects to prevent fraud, as an independent controller. Stripe's privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy) and cookie policy (stripe.com/legal/cookies-policy) explain this.
5. Analytics (only with your consent)
5.1 If you allow analytics, we load Mixpanel's software. It helps us understand how people use TicketSoft so we can improve it. It records actions such as searches, filters, events viewed, clicks through to other ticket sellers, shares, checkout steps and completed purchases. Before a page address is sent, we remove most of the extra details added to the end of it. Mixpanel also works out an approximate location, such as town and country, from your IP address. We do not use Mixpanel's session replay (recordings of your visit) or its automatic capture of every click.
5.2 If you are signed in, analytics may be linked to your TicketSoft account ID.
| Name or key | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cookie beginning mp_ and ending _mixpanel | Mixpanel | Holds a random identifier for your browser, your TicketSoft account ID if you are signed in, and basic settings for our analytics. It is shared across ticketsoft.com and its subdomains | First-party cookie | 1 year, or until you withdraw consent |
| Key beginning __mp_opt_in_out_ | Mixpanel | Records whether analytics is switched on or off | Local storage | Until you clear site data |
5.3 If you reject analytics, Mixpanel's software is not loaded and nothing is sent to Mixpanel.
5.4 Mixpanel processes this data for us as our service provider. It stores the data in the United States. Mixpanel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has decided gives adequate protection to personal data sent to the United States. Our Privacy Notice (section 10) explains more.
5.5 We do not use advertising or marketing cookies on ticketsoft.com. If we ever want to, we will ask for your consent first.
6. Content from other websites
6.1 Images. Most event images are delivered through our own website. Some come straight from the website of the ticket seller or organiser that supplied the listing, and our pages ask your browser to connect early to Ticketmaster's image server (s1.ticketm.net) so that its event images load faster. Country flags are loaded from flagsapi.com. When your browser loads an image from, or connects to, another website, that website receives your IP address and basic details of your browser, as with any visit to a website.
6.2 Maps. Event pages show a map of the venue from Google Maps. To show it, your browser loads the map from Google, which receives your IP address and details of your browser, and Google may set or read its own cookies. The map loads when you open an event page. Google decides for itself how it uses this information, as an independent controller, under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
6.3 Location lookup. To suggest events near you, our server sends your IP address to ip-api.com, an IP-location service, which returns an approximate location. This stores nothing on your device, but it does share your IP address with ip-api.com. Our Privacy Notice (section 9.2A) explains more, including that we plan to stop using it.
6.4 If you sign in with Google, Google's sign-in page is run by Google and uses Google's cookies, under Google's own policies. It loads only if you choose to sign in with Google.
6.5 Some listings link to other ticket sellers' websites. When you follow those links, you leave TicketSoft, and that seller's cookie policy and privacy notice apply. If you allowed analytics, we record that you clicked the link.
7. Changing your choice
7.1 Our message lets you accept all optional cookies, reject them, or choose under Manage preferences. We keep your choice until you change it or clear site data.
7.2 You can change your mind at any time. Select "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page to reopen your choices. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
7.3 You can also clear site data for ticketsoft.com in your browser settings. We will then ask for your choice again. Clearing site data also signs you out and clears your saved location, filters and saved events.
7.4 If you withdraw consent, we stop analytics. Data already collected is kept and deleted as our Privacy Notice explains.
7.5 You can set your browser to block cookies or site storage. If you block strictly necessary storage, you will not be able to sign in or buy tickets.
8. Changes to this policy
8.1 We will update this policy when we change the cookies we use, and change the "Last updated" date at the top. If we add a new optional cookie, we will ask for your consent before using it. If we add an online queue for high-demand on-sales, or identity checks, we will list any storage they use here before they start.
9. Contact and complaints

9.2 You can complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie). Please contact us first, so we can try to help.
